the storyteller's way
Sweeter water comes from deeper wells.
The Storyteller goes deep. Really deep.
And then abstracts.
The Storyteller wrestles with the complex.
And then simplifies.
The Storyteller finds the rhythm, finds the beat.
Then finds the pause.
Come and walk the path with fellow storytellers.
You've learned how to tell a story.
NOW LEARN THE STORY.

who is this workshop for?
Are you a practicing storyteller looking to go to the next level? This retreat is suitable for anyone who wants to walk the path of the storyteller i.e. be a better storyteller. The module covers the heart of a story, how to read narratives, personal narrative, work with metaphors, brand story frameworks, business narratives but more than anything else, this retreat is about, as the name suggests, figuring out and committing to the way of the storyteller. You will come back a better storyteller and with a deeper understanding of why and how to keep telling the story of the work you do.

Timings
This is a fully residential workshop. On some days we begin at 9:00 AM and on some days we may begin earlier. As for the end time…..let’s just say that it is best that you do not plan anything else during the days of the retreat, not even an excursion into Goa.
If you wish to explore Goa or shop or catch up with friends, it is best you come a few days prior or extend your stay, post the workshop. During the days of the workshop, it is best you stay fully invested with the cohort and into the storytelling journey.

Testimonials
“
On the last day, as the sun dips low in the horizon, I feel a bittersweet contentment settle within me. The day closes with a standing ovation—eyes glistening, hands clasped in gratitude. Hugs are exchanged freely, words are too small for what we feel. When someone murmurs “thank you,” it feels both too little and more than enough.

a participant of one of the previous cohorts, held at the Himalayan Writing Retreat
about the instructor
Ameen Haque is the founder of Storywallahs and believes good stories happen to those who can tell them. He considers himself a story monk i.e. both a student as well as a practitioner and teacher of storytelling. CEO's, change makers and business leaders from across the world have turned to him for help with their stories. He has studied business administration and followed that up with a course in advertising & media planning from MICA. Formerly a Vice President at Ogilvy & Mather, Ameen has over 20 years of experience in advertising, marketing, consulting and theatre.
His work is deeply influenced by his experiences in communications, both as a marketer and as an actor. He learned storytelling while creating campaigns for some of the biggest brands, helping start-up founders raise funds and while telling stories to those with the lowest attention spans - children. When not studying or teaching storytelling, he loves climbing hills and playing table tennis.
